Weekend weather planner: Feels-like temps could reach triple digits, chance for pop-ups
TO THE POOL, IT’S GOING TO BE HOT. WE’VE GOT TEMPERATURES AT 70 RIGHT NOW. DEW POINTS ARE IN THE 60S. WE HAVE NOTICEABLE TO MODERATE HUMIDITY. NO FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURE YET, BUT THAT WILL CHANGE AS WE GO THROUGH TODAY. HAZY, HOT, HUMID AIR TAKES HOLD HERE AROUND THE MIDWEST. THAT’S GOING TO BE THE STORY AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. SO WE’VE GOT A LOT OF HEAT BUILDING IN, AND IT REALLY ONLY GETS WORSE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. I THINK THE HUMIDITY AGAIN, IN MODERATE RANGES THROUGH THE WEEKEND, BUT IT’S GOING TO BE EXTREMELY HIGH BY MONDAY AND TUESDAY, AND THAT’S GOING TO CREATE SOME VERY DANGEROUS HEAT INDEX VALUES OVER 100. SO WE’LL HAVE TO WATCH THAT FORECAST VERY CLOSELY BECAUSE AGAIN, VERY HIGH HEAT IN THE FORECAST HERE IN THE NEAR FUTURE 90 DEGREES FOR THE HIGH TODAY WE’LL HAVE A FEW POP UP SHOWERS DOWNPOURS MAINLY IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING FEELS LIKE 95 WHEN YOU FACTOR IN SOME OF THAT HUMIDITY TONIGHT 70 FOR THE LOW. WE’LL HAVE A STRAY SHOWER, PARTLY CLOUDY AND HUMID, AND THEN TOMORROW WE GET 93 FOR THE HIGH. VERY MUCH A REPEAT OF TODAY, ALTHOUGH MUCH WARMER. FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES APPROACHING 100. WE’LL HAVE THOSE HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS ALL AFTERNOON WITH ADDITIONAL POP UP SHOWERS INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. FUTURECAST TODAY IS GOING TO SHOW SOME SUNSHINE WITH POP UPS DEVELOPING AFTER TWO 3:00. TODAY THEY’LL BE SCATTERED HERE FROM NORTH TO SOUTH, BUT THEY CONTINUE THROUGH ABOUT SUNSET. WE COULD PICK UP A STRAY SHOWER TONIGHT, MUCH LIKE WHAT WE SAW THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. BUT MOST OF YOUR SATURDAY STARTING OUT DRY, YOU CAN SEE HERE AGAIN AROUND TWO 3:00. ADDITIONAL POP UPS DEVELOPING INTO THE EVENING. AND THEN WE’RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT POTENTIAL FOR MORE AS YOU GO INTO SUNDAY. I THINK SUNDAY MOSTLY DRY RIGHT NOW, BUT MODELS STARTING TO SUGGEST THAT WE COULD SEE SOME SHOWERS IN THE FORECAST. KEEP YOU UPDATED ON THAT. High heat and humidity are in the forecast this weekend. This will make things feel very much like July! We'll also mix in some pop up chances. Friday morning starts out muggy and warm with temperatures in the 60s for most cities. Our afternoon weather will basically be a repeat of yesterday with humidity staying around and highs warming to 90. Again, a stray downpour will be possible during the afternoon with most staying dry.Expect a warm night with lows of around 70 degrees.
