OLD-BIG-HEAVY, BUT ROCKS!!! PEAVEY XR-1200 POWERED MIXER W/ 400 WATTS! (has a Peavey CS-400 power amp built into it)
(West Side C/S near Roundhouse)

It’s BIG & HEAVY, so you probably wouldn’t want to be carting it to gigs very often, but
GREAT FOR A GARAGE BAND, PRACTICE PA, OR A SMALL CHURCH ETC. it’s still quite useful and actually sounds great.

I’ve owned this for about 20 years, but have another powered mixer that I use so it’s been in storage that entire time.
Yes, it’s got some of the graphic EQ fader tips are broken, but all still works.
All channels function, but if you’re fairly handy, the pots could all use a cleaning with spray contact cleaner (I could do it, but that would add a few hundred $$$ for my time). Power switch has been replaced at some time in the past prior to me acquiring it.

This mixing board has an actual, “Peavey CS-400” Power-Amp built into it (mostly why it’s so heavy). Both, Fan cooled, 200 Watt + 200 Watt amplifiers work well, are very quiet at idle, with lot’s of punch and power.

Each channel has XLR and ¼” Hi-Z input as well as individual inserts / effects loops.

The board can be configured in many ways via its very versatile patch bay;

It’s a 12 input mixer, with Pre-Gain, 3 bands of EQ, Built-in, Analog, Spring Reverb / Effects loop, L&R Pan, PFL (Pre-Fade-Listen) and dual monitor mixes.

It has built in defeatable DDT compression on the power amps, and 4x LED power meters.

It’s a Dual 200 + 200 Watt Power amp

It’s a dual 10-Band, graphic EQ

With the patch bay, you can;
1) Simply utilize both EQ’s and both power amps for your main PA speakers either Mono or Stereo

2) send your main mix thru and EQ, into one power amplifier to run your main PA speakers, then the monitor output thru the other EQ and power-amp for your monitors.

3) Use the built in power amps to do only monitors (can do two separate monitor mixes) and use another power amp to run mains or visa-versa

4) just use the mixer section to other power amps, or for recording

5) Just use the power amps for another job

6) use the power amps in a Bi-Amp or larger system if you have the additional gear (if you’ve got this far, you know what other gear).

This one used to be owned by El Paso, Co school dist 11.

I used this same model board in my first band back in about 1980 with a pair of Peavey SP-2 speakers and a pair of 12” wedge monitors and played plenty of rock venues then with it.

Yes, it’s OLD, BIG, HEAVY and not going to win any beauty contests, but it’s built like a ‘brick $hit house’, in the USA with quality components such as;
- all metal, Switchcraft XLR and 1/4” jacks w/ separate, metal fasteners
- Massive power supply transformer (probably about half the weight),
- Full size rotary potentiometers
- Circuit boards populated with full size components (no anemic, chinese, SMD parts)
- all metal chassis
- Modular circuit board construction (so you can actually service it)
- shaft nuts on all jacks and pots
- SIXTEEN, TO-3, metal cased output transistors on a huge heatsink, with fan forced, tunnel cooling (surprisingly, there was virtually no dust on the heatsinks from the fan cooling. VERY clean on the inside which means it probably spent it’s life with a cover on it, and not used in bars or outside in dusty environs)
- Separate driver boards for each 200 Watt amp.

*** Both power amps tested to have DC output of less than -3.5mVDC out of either channel !!! ***

Yes, this board is big and heavy, but it was built back when Peavey was building for quality and long life span, not for a ‘cheap price point’ like the chinese junk made in the past 25-30 years. All USA built!

About the worst cosmetic issue is that someone got black paint on the left side panel.

Comes with print out of the owners manual.

(signal generator shown in last photo not included)

$355. Cash. Trades? Maybe,…what ya got?

I’ve already tested it COMPLETELY, but can demo for the serious buyer.
